Designed for the fire protection of plasterboard walls penetrated by plastic pipes, Fire Bands are rolled galvanized steel sleeves with 2 slide tabs fixed through a corresponding slot and 2 fixing points for fastening to the plasterboard.

An Allproof pipe wrap is installed on each face of the plasterboard within the Fire Band. When a fire occurs the intumescent pipe wraps contained within the steel Fire band activate, filling the band with a fire resistant seal.

Fire Bands are also available with no fixing points to the plasterboard, these should extend at least 10mm out of the face of the wall on each side.

Instructions for Installation:

• The ends of the bands are installed flush with plasterboard face using fold out fixing tabs attached to the face of the wall.
• For fixed Fire Bands fasten into plasterboard using expanding hollow core wall anchors. Do not use fixings that rely on plastic or nylon components for grip.
• For Fire Bands that are not fixed, the band should extend out from the face of the wall by at least 10mm on each side.
• Seal gap between the Fire Band and the plasterboard of both wall faces with Allproof intumescent sealant.
